Part 61 - Airline Transport Pilot (ATP)

The Airline Transport Pilot license or ATP is the pinnacle of your aviation career. By the time you have reached this level you are now a professional pilot. The ATP is required in order to be the pilot in command for an airline, corporate flight department, or charter operator. Usually required for insurance reasons it signifies that you and you alone are ultimately responsible for the safety and well being of the passengers or cargo aboard your aircraft.

FAA ATP Eligibility Requirements
  • Be at least 23 years of age
  • Be able to read, write and understand the English language
  • Be of good moral character
  • Either hold an FAA commercial pilot certificate and FAA Instrument Rating or hold either a foreign airline transport pilot or foreign commercial pilot license and an instrument rating, without limitations, issued by a contracting State to the Convention on International Civil Aviation.
  • Hold a current FAA class I medical certificate
  • Meet the aeronautical experience requirements ( ie 1500 hrs total time, etc)
  • Pass a knowledge test for the ATP
Course Overview

Conducted in one of our Piper Seminole you will be taught the maneuvers and knowledge for the ATP flight check and oral examination. Only taught by our most experience Flight Instructors, you are assured of a first time pass.

Course Duration

Based on a full time course, you will need about 6 days to complete this course depending on the individuals experience and preparation for the course.
